Step into the shadows and uncover the darker side of our historic town with the hugely popular Christchurch Tales & Ghosts walk, led by Haunted History Hugh from Haunted New Forest. This atmospheric evening walk blends real documented history, local folklore and true ghost stories, all told as you wander through Christchurch's ancient streets after dark. It's immersive, intriguing and just the right side of spooky. This isn't a stand-and-listen tour — it's an engaging guided walk that brings Christchurch's past to life. Along the way you'll hear about a 12th-century castle site, the mysteries surrounding Christchurch Priory, stories linked to haunted pubs, spectral monks, phantom soldiers and poltergeist activity, and rare Norman features you can still see today. For those feeling brave, there's also the chance to see and use authentic ghost-hunting equipment, including dowsing rods, EMF meters and pendulum boards. Whether you're a believer or just curious, this walk has a habit of making people look at Christchurch very differently afterwards.
