Christchurch Neighbour Cars
About
Christchurch Neighbour Cars is a volunteer car scheme run by Christchurch Community Partnership (CCP), a local charity dedicated to reducing social isolation in Christchurch, Dorset. The service uses private vehicles driven by friendly volunteers to help residents attend social events, community groups, lunch clubs, and local activities — providing a lifeline for those who struggle to use public transport or have no regular means of getting around. Journeys are charged at just 45p per mile plus a £2.50 admin fee, keeping costs affordable and accessible. You can be referred by a GP, social worker, NHS professional, or friend — or simply refer yourself. CCP also operates Dial a Bus, a door-to-door accessible minibus service using two fully accessible 14-seater minibuses, staffed by volunteer drivers and onboard "bus buddies". Both services are open to anyone who needs a helping hand with transport in and around Christchurch.
